The Neurodiversity society aims to provide an accessible social community for neurodivergent students where we can make friends and support one another in a place we feel welcome and accepted.
'Neurodivergent' is a term used to describe anyone whose brain works differently from what is considered typical for most people. This includes, for example, autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and Tourettes syndrome, plus much more.
Anyone who considers themselves neurodivergent, thinks they might be, or just feels this is the community for them, regardless of diagnostic status, is welcome here.
We offer a variety of in person activities and have a welcoming online community on Discord.
Activities we offer:
Weekly Socials – An opportunity to meet up with other Neurodivergent students in a chilled, no pressure environment. If you just want to do your own thing, or a space to sit and study between lectures, that's fine too!
Regular online games events through our Discord server
Fortnightly Evening Events – A range of fun events and activities, including:
Games nights, such as JackBox or board games
Arts and crafts
Movie nights
Funny Powerpoint nights
Collabs with other societies
+much more!
Trips in Leicester –
Exploring the city centre
Museum trips
Evening events such as bowling, ice skating or pub quizzes
Or even something as simple as getting groceries!
We aim to make all of our events as accessible as possible and provide quiet breakout spaces. There is no pressure to join in activities or be social.
Details for the new academic year to come soon. In the meantime, join our Discord server!
We look forward to meeting you :)
